Job Description:
Position Overview: The Senior Appian Developer will lead and oversee the development, design, and implementation of Appian solutions, ensuring high quality and alignment with business objectives. This role involves managing requirements gathering, providing oversight on design and implementation, and offering expertise in data modeling, system integrations, and application testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee requirements gathering and interpretation for infrastructure impacts across the portfolio pipeline.
- Clarify requirements and ensure all teams understand the business rationale behind them.
- Lead and participate in design and implementation reviews for key business and engineering projects, ensuring operational readiness before production deployment.
- Provide expertise in data modeling, system integrations, best practices, and application testing.
- Partner with architecture and development teams during business planning sessions.
- Review existing solutions, track and remediate issues related to resiliency, risk, and performance.
- Offer technology guidance in strategic planning and business strategies.
- Perform coding, peer reviews, and design solutions within the Appian platform.
Required Technical Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of IT experience, with at least 7-8 years of hands-on experience delivering solutions using Appian.
- Proficiency with Appian versions 20x/21x/22x, including the ability to write complex Appian SAIL code (beyond drag-and-drop functionality).
- Strong understanding of Appian Objects such as Sites, Records, Reports, Tasks, News, Actions, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, Web API, Interface Rules, CDTs, Process Models, Decisions, Integrations, Connected Systems, Data Stores, Groups, Feeds, etc.
- Experience with at least three end-to-end Appian BPM implementations (Design/Develop/Deploy/Package).
- Knowledge of Appian Process/Solution and Infrastructure Architecture, including Appian In-Memory KDB Engines and vertical/horizontal scaling.
- Experience with App Servers (e.g., JBOSS, TOMCAT) and Web Servers (e.g., Apache).
- Expertise in user interface development, including cross-browser and cross-device compliant code.
- Experience with Agile methodologies in application delivery.
- Hands-on experience in writing Appian Plugins (Smart Services, Function Plugins, Servlet Plugins), Connected Systems, and Component UI Plugins (preferred).
- Familiarity with Embedded SAIL.
- Experience with J2EE Design Patterns (JSPs, Java Servlets, EJBs, JDBC, etc.).
- Strong understanding of JMS Messaging Services, Spring Security Framework, and Hibernate Technologies.
- Broad experience with technologies such as CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, AngularJS, ReactJS, or other modern UI frameworks.
- Exposure to RPA, AI, and intelligent automation tools.
- Experience with SQL coding using SQL Server, MySQL, or MariaDB.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of total work-related experience in a similar role or area.
