Position Overview:
Audible is seeking a skilled RPG II/LANSA Developer to join our IT team in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with IBM iSeries systems and be proficient in RPG II and LANSA development tools. This role is critical for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our legacy systems while integrating them with modern technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Develop and maintain applications using RPG II on IBM iSeries systems.
- Programming and Debugging: Design, code, test, and debug programs utilizing LANSA development tools.
- Technical Analysis: Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- System Optimization: Enhance and optimize existing legacy systems to improve functionality and performance.
- Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate legacy systems with new technologies.
- Support and Troubleshooting: Provide support for existing applications in production and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Documentation: Document technical specifications and ensure adherence to software version control practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience programming with RPG II and LANSA.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IBM iSeries system operations, database management, SQL, and DB2 databases.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capability to work under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Development Practices: Experience with the software development lifecycle and version control practices.
