Location: Onsite in Tallahassee, FL

EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another related field.
o Our client will consider the equivalent work experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with large and complex database management systems.
• Three (3) – five (5) years of technical leadership abilities in data architecture.
• Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert.
• Coached and mentored more junior technical staff.
• Experience with data architecture, large-scale data modeling, database design, and business requirements analysis.
• Defines and plans database architectures for enterprise systems.
• Works on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
• Ability to communicate technical documentation effectively to both technical and non-technical members of the team.
• DBMS software, including SQL Server.
• Machine learning, predictive modeling, and natural language processing.
• Data mining and modeling tools.
• Data management and reporting technologies, predictive analytics, data visualization and unstructured data.
• Creative and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Database and cloud computing design, architectures, and data lakes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for enterprise-wide data design, balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors.
• Knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts.
• Control project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design.
• Focuses on enterprise-wide data modeling and database design.
• Defines data architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization, structure, attributes, and nomenclature of data elements, and applies accepted data content standards to technology projects.
• Responsible for business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design, Database Management Systems optimization, recovery strategy and load strategy design and implementation.
• Collaborate with IT teams and management to devise a data strategy that addresses industry requirements.
• Build an inventory of data needed to implement the architecture.
• Identify and evaluate current data management technologies.
• Create a fluid, end-to-end vision for how data flows through an organization.
• Develop data models for database structures.
• Design, document, construct and deploy database architectures and applications (e.g., large relational databases).
• Integrate technical functionality (e.g., scalability, security, performance, data recovery, reliability, etc.).
• Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
• Constantly monitor, refine, and report on the performance of data management systems.
• Meld new systems with existing warehouse structures.
• Produce and enforce database development standards.
• Maintain a corporate repository of all data architecture artifacts and procedures.
