Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Tester with extensive experience in UI and API Test Automation to join our team in Saint Paul, MN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in WDIO, TypeScript, Node.JS, Postman or Axios, and will be able to contribute effectively to Agile ceremonies and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Tests: Collaborate with the team to develop and execute both automation and manual test cases and scripts for delivery components.
- Communication: Provide demos of completed user stories, automation scripts, and drive defect triage meetings with excellent communication skills.
- Defect Management: Analyze test results, report defects, and track them until closure using XRay or similar tools.
Must-Have Skills:
- UI Test Automation: 7+ years of hands-on experience with WDIO and TypeScript.
- API Test Automation: 5+ years of experience using Jest, TypeScript, and RESTful web services.
- Node.JS: 3+ years of experience with environment configuration, dependency management, and vulnerability resolution.
- SQL: Hands-on experience with SQL queries.
- Agile Scrum: Experience with Jira, test planning, execution, defect management, and contributing to Agile ceremonies.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Basic knowledge of the insurance domain.
- Experience in financial services, banking, life insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience within an AWS development environment.
- Data layer testing experience, including data transformation based on STTM, advanced SQL skills, and using SQL in coordination with Python or other languages.
- Test data management experience.
- Experience with source controlling, scheduling, and running UI test automation using GitHub actions or similar workflow automation tools.
- Experience creating test automation that connects to a vault (such as CyberArk) to retrieve credentials for automation purposes.
- Familiarity with JFrog/Artifactory for Node.JS environment configuration and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to support QA automation development.
- Experience using GitHub for cloning repositories, creating and merging branches, and maintaining a test automation code base.
- Participation in code reviews to approve and merge pull requests for QA automation code.
- Experience with Jira/Xray or similar tools like HP ALM for quality support, including creating stories/tasks, tests, and running test executions.
- Technical writing experience for creating QA documentation, preferably with GitHub Wiki “markdown” language.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong emphasis on manual testing experience.
- Excellent and proactive communication skills for interaction with stakeholders.
