Job Title: Sr Oracle Database Developer

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:

VDOT is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Developer proficient in PL/SQL with extensive experience in Oracle and MS SQL Server development. This role requires onsite presence in Richmond, with initial weeks requiring 2 days onsite per week, transitioning to 1-2 days per week thereafter. The assignment is expected to extend beyond 6/30, potentially up to 24 months.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain PL/SQL code for data conversion, system enhancements, report generation, and transaction editing improvements.

Perform data analysis, develop requirements, and create data models.

Build interfaces between business applications to facilitate data integration.

Collaborate effectively within Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Communicate clearly with business users and developers.

Required Experience & Skills:

10+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server Database Development.

Strong written and oral communication skills (10+ years).

Background in data integration between business systems (8+ years).

Proficiency in writing and maintaining PL/SQL code for data conversion and system enhancements (8+ years).

Experience in requirements analysis and data modeling (highly desired, 6+ years).

Familiarity with data integration tools such as IBM DataStage, web services, messaging, and modern data warehousing concepts (nice to have, 6+ years).

Additional Requirements:

Ability to conduct and participate in onsite and webcam interviews.

Must purchase parking through VDOT’s Parking Management Office or procure own parking.
