Job Title: Infrastructure Solutions Architect 4
Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Responsibilities
The Infrastructure Solutions Architect is responsible for researching, planning, and implementing enterprise solutions encompassing networking, software technologies, and life safety systems critical to public impact. This role requires creativity, multitasking, and independent collaboration to achieve service and support objectives for the Transportation Operations Center. The ideal candidate will contribute to team projects, provide technical leadership, and manage medium-complexity efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, plan, and install enterprise solutions involving networking, software technologies, and life safety systems.
Assess existing network and software solutions, making recommendations based on product specifications and cybersecurity best practices.
Configure equipment and software to meet business needs, provide training, and document solutions for ongoing support.
Collaborate within team environments on large-scale projects or independently on smaller initiatives.
Provide technical support and contribute to the design of infrastructure solutions.
Respond to Tier 1 and 2 network and software support requests promptly and effectively.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.
Design network extensions and campus network connections as required.
Assist in configuring and deploying new/replacement network hardware and communication infrastructure.
Maintain up-to-date project documentation, architecture diagrams, and inventory records.
Monitor network resources for faults, anomalies, and security threats.
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues between users and resources.
Maintain a detailed change history of network configurations and updates.
Support ITS Field Maintenance with communication implementations and troubleshooting efforts.
Contribute to team efforts in enhancing cybersecurity controls, threat hunting, and mitigation strategies.
Manage time and resources effectively to meet project deadlines and service level agreements.
Required Skills and Experience:
General Information Technology: 10 years of experience required.
Cisco Routing and Switching: 5 years of experience required.
VLAN Management: 5 years of experience required.
Subnetting: 5 years of experience required.
Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.): 4 years of experience required.
Authentication (Radius, TACACS, etc.): 2 years of experience required.
Firewall Administration: 5 years of experience required.
VPN & Remote Access Technologies: 2 years of experience required.
Network Security: 2 years of experience highly desired.
DNS/DHCP: 2 years of experience nice to have.
Network Monitoring: 2 years of experience nice to have.
Network Cable Management: 2 years of experience nice to have.
FMC/Firepower: 2 years of experience nice to have.
Solutions Design and Build: 3 years of experience nice to have.
Integration Troubleshooting: 2 years of experience required.
Cybersecurity: 2 years of experience highly desired.
Software Integrations: 2 years of experience nice to have.
