Role Summary:
This position involves providing technical leadership and managing the enterprise resource system. The role requires direct management of programming projects, integration of third-party systems, and maintaining effective communication with technical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership (35%)
- Lead enterprise resource system projects.
- Manage project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Communicate resource constraints, project status, and issues.
- Programming Management (20%)
- Organize and manage development and maintenance of the Ellucian Banner ERP.
- Coordinate programming activities to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Prepare technical specifications and review team members’ work.
- Stakeholder Engagement (15%)
- Meet with managers and administrators to discuss system requirements and timelines.
- Provide customer support and resolve issues effectively.
- Share information and provide feedback on project processes.
- Team Leadership (15%)
- Guide programming staff to achieve optimum performance.
- Schedule and prioritize assignments.
- Provide advice on complex programming issues.
- System Administration (10%)
- Act as the Application System Administrator for Oracle databases across various environments.
- Perform software administration tasks: installation, upgrades, patches, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Other Duties (5%)
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by IT management.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education: bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in programming.
- Business application development with Oracle, UNIX, Solaris, or JAVA.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Ellucian Banner ERP and related functional areas.
- Developing Oracle PL/SQL code.
- Unix/Linux shell scripting, PowerShell, JSON, XML, REST, C#, PhP, and JavaScript.
- Managing/supporting Banner ancillary software products (Workflow, FormFusion, e-Print, Automic).
- Project management, team lead, or task lead roles.
- Certifications: One or more relevant certifications (Java, Oracle, Oracle PL/SQL Application Developer).
- Preferred: Experience in a higher education environment.
