Job Title: Network Architect (Infrastructure Specialist – Configuration Items, Discovery and Support)
Location: Houston, TX –Onsite
Duration: Long term contract
Must Haves:
- Network Engineer
- CMDB (Configuration Management Database)
- Configuration Items (CIs)
- Discovery tools (e.g: ServiceNow, SCCM, SolarWinds)
- Executing infrastructure upgrades
- Executing infrastructure migrations
- Executing infrastructure optimizations
Description:
- Conduct a comprehensive discovery of all Configuration Items (CIs) in the newly acquired company, including servers, network devices, databases, applications, and other IT assets.
- Utilize discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow, SCCM, SolarWinds) to automate asset discovery and maintain an accurate CMDB (Configuration Management Database).
- Assess the current state of IT infrastructure, identify gaps, and make recommendations for integration into the existing environment.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and business teams to ensure compliance and alignment with company standards.
- Develop and document processes for ongoing CI discovery and inventory management.
- Provide technical support for the discovered infrastructure, ensuring stability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues as part of ongoing support.
- Support the integration of CIs into existing monitoring, backup, and security systems.
- Assist in planning and executing infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and optimizations as required.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure discovery, asset management, and support.
- Strong knowledge of discovery tools like ServiceNow, SCCM, SolarWinds, or similar.
- Familiarity with CMDB and ITIL processes related to Configuration Management.
- Experience with server, network, storage, and application support.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for resolving infrastructure-related issues.
