Overview:
We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to support the ODGA and specifically the newly created Office of Workforce Development. This role is pivotal in providing strategic business analysis services to both the ODGA and the Office of Workforce Development, ensuring a deep understanding of business strategies, processes, services, and roadmaps. The Business Analyst will act as the key liaison between the ODGA and the Office of Workforce Development, helping to document capabilities and address business challenges effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic business analysis services to the ODGA and the Office of Workforce Development.
Collaborate closely within the ODGA and the Office of Workforce Development to gain an in-depth understanding of business strategies, processes, services, and roadmaps.
Act as a liaison between the ODGA and the Office of Workforce Development, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
Review assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks.
Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency.
Lead small to mid-size projects and assist project managers on larger, more complex projects related to operational business functions.
Document and analyze business needs, processes, and systems to provide recommendations for improvement.
Required Skills and Experience:
Data Governance and Protection:
7 years of experience understanding components of a comprehensive Data Protection & Governance program, including governance, policy, organizational design, and communications.
7 years of knowledge in data governance and security practices, as well as technologies, programming and scripting languages, and data tools associated with big-data environments.
3 years of experience related to defining and assessing Data Protection strategies, architecture, practices, and technology implementation (desired).
Familiarity with Data Protection technology capabilities such as data discovery, data labeling, data inventory, CASB, Microsoft Purview, and information rights management.
Cloud Data Security:
7 years of experience with cloud data security and working with public cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google).
Interpersonal Skills:
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively build relationships and interact with stakeholders at all levels within the Commonwealth.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of strategic business analysis within the context of data governance and analytics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address risks and opportunities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a governmental or public sector environment.
Certification in business analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA, etc.).
