Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team and support the Office of Data Governance and Analytics (ODGA), specifically focusing on the newly established Office of Workforce Development within the Commonwealth. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Data Officer within the ODGA, this role will play a pivotal part in providing strategic business analysis services to both the ODGA and the Office of Workforce Development. The primary objective is to closely collaborate within these entities to deeply understand their business strategies, processes, services, roadmap, and operational context. The Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between the ODGA and the Office of Workforce Development, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of objectives.

Responsibilities:

•Conduct thorough reviews of assigned business processes, spanning from end-to-end, to identify and mitigate operational, financial, and technological risks.

•Proactively identify opportunities for enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.

•Lead small to mid-size projects independently and collaborate with other project managers on larger, more intricate projects related to operational business functions impacting team members and providers.

•Collaborate closely with stakeholders at various levels within the Commonwealth to understand their needs and requirements.

•Serve as a subject matter expert on data protection strategy, architecture, and practices, including technology implementation.

•Assess and define components of a comprehensive Data Protection & Governance program, encompassing governance, policy, organizational design, and communications.

•Demonstrate expertise in Data Protection technology capabilities such as data discovery, data labeling, data inventory, CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker), Microsoft Purview, and information rights management.

•Exhibit strong knowledge of data governance and security practices, as well as familiarity with technologies, programming languages, scripting languages, and data tools associated with big data.

•Leverage experience and familiarity with cloud data security, particularly in working with public cloud solutions such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

•Utilize outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with stakeholders at all levels within the Commonwealth.

Required Skills:

•7 years of experience in understanding components of a comprehensive Data Protection & Governance program, including governance, policy, organizational design, and communications.

•7 years of familiarity with Data Protection technology capabilities such as data discovery, data labeling, data inventory, CASB, Microsoft Purview, and information rights management.

•7 years of knowledge of data governance and security practices, as well as technologies, programming languages, scripting languages, and data tools associated with big data.

•7 years of experience and familiarity with cloud data security, particularly in working with public cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

•7 years of outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with stakeholders at all levels within the Commonwealth.

Desired Skills:

•3 years of experience related to defining and assessing Data Protection strategy, architecture, and practices, including technology implementation.
