I’m reaching out with an exciting opportunity that aligns perfectly with your experience in big data architecture and leadership. Our client is actively seeking a Sr. Data Platform Architect to join their innovative team in Columbus, OH (Hybrid).

Role Highlights:

• Title: Sr. Data Platform Architect
• Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid)
• Duration: Full-Time
• Work Authorization: Only USC, GC

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate & Enhance Big Data Ecosystems: Assess the company’s Hadoop architecture (including HBase, HDFS, Spark, and Kafka) and adjacent technologies to identify improvement opportunities and develop migration strategies.
• Design & Develop Scalable Solutions: Architect distributed systems using Java, Scala, or Python, working on both on-premises and cloud-based platforms like Amazon EMR and Google BigQuery.
• Leadership & Strategy: Lead major architectural decisions, providing guidance on best practices, performance optimization, and scalable design for enterprise-level systems.
• Prototyping & Innovation: Develop proof-of-concept systems and functional requirements in anticipation of evolving data demands.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with multiple teams to drive system improvements, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical goals.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of leadership experience with Hadoop or alternative big data technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Cassandra).
• Expertise in big data programming (Java, Scala, Python) for data processing frameworks such as Spark.
• Deep understanding of distributed computing principles, data pipelines, and ETL workflows.
• Strong background in cloud technologies (Amazon EMR, Google BigQuery) and on-premise big data solutions.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and guide cross-functional teams to success, while communicating technical strategies to business stakeholders.
• Experience with Graph databases and Graph data architectures is a plus.
