Position: JAVA Project Manager

 

Job Description:

  • Help drive technical standards and architecture
  • Lead and contribute to a range of software development while focusing the team to solve the most challenging problems
  • Build high-quality software, utilizing modern cloud and edge approaches
  • Manage, hire and develop a team of high performing software engineers
  • Lead cross-functional efforts from the early stages through release
  • Influence organization roadmap priorities, system owners, and technical direction
  • Represent difficult trade-off decisions and solutions to stakeholders to help them understand options
  • Guide the technical direction and decisions to deliver a solution that meets GE HealthCare high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience working in software engineering, including the design and development of highly scalable web services
  • 4+ years of experience as a people manager in a software development organization, responsible for hiring and developing a team
  • 5+ years of experience planning, designing, developing, and delivering commercial and/or consumer software
  • Experience in partnering and effectively communicating with product and program management teams
  • Knowledge of technology and modern development practices including Object Oriented principles (C++, Java or similar language), Service Oriented Architecture

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s in computer science or a related field
  • 5+ years of software development management experience
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise
  • Project Management experience with agile development methodology
  • Ability to take raw product requirements and create software architectures and designs to bring them to life
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Senior Leadership
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and opinions
