Job Description :: 

WE ARE BASICALLY LOOKING FOR AN ETL TESTER, THEY WILL HAVE INFORMATICA OR IDMC EXPERIENCE, databricks and all that other stuff is nice to have, python would be great to have. This person will have tested data during data migrations, data conversion, etc..   It’s not a typical automation QA/SDET

 

Position Summary ::

PoP team works with Databricks technology and is responsible for bulk publishing data for consumers in the EIS Item Modernization journey. Team consumes data from both legacy and modern Kafka data topics, stores it in DBx delta tables, and makes it available for consumers via different consumer consumption patterns.

 

This SDET role will be a hands-on position primarily performing data testing. Create and execute test plans & scripts that will validate the project’s data quality and data integrity as the data is transitioned through the various streaming processes. Create test data to exercise data validations and test the compliance of information flows and data stores against data quality standards, and effectively communicate test progress, test results to the project stakeholders and management

 

Must Haves ::

  • Automation for Data Testing: Informatica (They specifically use IDMC but any Informatica will do)
  • Data Validation
  • Python
  • SQL: Must be able to write complex SQL queries (Not looking for just union, center, join, but ability to extract & load data. ELT Testing)
  • Test processes for testing data specifically around data lakes & data warehouses. We are looking for been there, done that experience here. This is not a time to learn on the job.

 

Exposure To ::

  • Azure – databricks, ADF, etc.

 

Preferred Skills ::

  • Familiarity with advanced data technologies including EventHub, Kafka, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Knowledge of any of database systems like SQL Server, Oracle or db2 etc. and experience writing queries
  • Experience working with cloud technologies, preferably Azure. Proficiency with Azure Databricks Delta tables, workflows and in Python scripting.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of conducting thorough code reviews.

  • Adaptability to new tech stacks and responsiveness to feedback.

 

Essential Job Functions ::

  • Adhere to Kroger’s quality and test procedures, test processes, and best practices
  • Analyze requirements and provide feedback on completeness and testability
  • Provide accurate estimates for QA efforts including test case design/scripting, test data management, test execution, and defect correction
  • Design and create test cases/scripts that provide accurate and complete coverage of the requirements, including positive scenarios, negative scenarios, and edge cases
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests, following Kroger test automation guidelines and best practices
  • Maintain the health of automated test scripts to ensure efficient operation of the continuous integration pipeline
  • Identify and document defects found during test cycles, participating in defect prioritization sessions and root cause analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve application code quality by increasing unit and integration test coverage
  • Provide ideas and feedback on test automation frameworks and opportunities to improve
  • Participate in all ceremonies, meetings, and sessions held for the project and team
  • Assist with building and maintaining test environments and driving their best use
  • Understand Kroger’s core quality metrics and how to utilize them to foster quality improvement
