Job Title: Data Science/ML Project Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, project management, and leadership, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex data projects from inception to completion. The Data Science Project Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive the execution of strategic data initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage data science projects throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and requirements definition to execution and delivery.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, tracking progress and managing changes as necessary.
- Coordinate resources, both internal and external, ensuring that team members understand their responsibilities and are held accountable for deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project timelines, budget, or quality, proactively implementing solutions to address challenges.
- Communicate project status, updates, and outcomes to stakeholders, including executives, team members, and clients, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and project management, applying knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project management, specifically managing data science or analytics projects.
- Strong understanding of data science concepts, methodologies, and tools, with the ability to engage technically with data scientists and analysts.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and influence cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Trello) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau).
- PMP, ScrumMaster, or other relevant certifications preferred.
