Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Baltimore, MD (On-site, Remote Temporarily) (Only Locals)
Description of Work:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with technical experience in information architecture, data architecture, data modeling, data governance, ETL design, data quality, and BI analytics. The candidate will coordinate with EDW MI/BI Teams, EDW Technical Architects, and EDW PMs to create ETL documents as per project requirements, collaborate with EDAs to understand MI/BI requirements, and support data modeling needs. Additionally, the candidate will facilitate technical meetings, provide design and development recommendations, and proactively update EDW PMs and Technical Leads on any project issues or changes in direction. The ability to multitask and support multiple projects is essential.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Technical experience in information architecture, data architecture, data modeling, data governance, ETL design, data quality, and BI analytics.
- Strong working experience with SQL and other databases (e.g., DB2 and Oracle).
- Strong working experience with BI development tools (e.g., Tableau and other BI tools).
- Strong working experience with ETL development and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Database development skills.
- Familiarity with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin Data Modeler).
- Experience with Enterprise Data Catalogs.
