Data Analyst with Lawson and Oracle HCM exp || Remote || No OPT

End-client: MCPS (Montgomery County Public School)

Working with a Prime Vendor

 

Client is currently using the Infor-Lawson S3 Human Resource Information System (HRIS) application ver.10, with a significant number of customizations, and Landmark running on the IBM AIX UNIX 7.1 platform. MCPS is also using Lawson Business Intelligence and Crystal Reports. The HRIS application includes Absence Management, Benefits, Human Resources, Payroll, Personnel, and Time & Attendance. The HRIS application integrates with multiple 3rd party applications to address MCPS’s needs.

 

The client developed a customized “time and attendance” application to record employee attendance and produce time records for payroll processing. This application is designed using the Lawson application development workbench platform. It is integrated within the core Lawson application suite.

 

The client is also using Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) utilizing the Oracle Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Cloud Platform. The functional scope for Oracle ERP Cloud is financials and supply chain management (Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivable, Advanced Procurement, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, General Accounting, Inventory, Procurement, Projects and Grants, and Sourcing).

 

The client is currently in the process of migrating from the Infor-Lawson Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to the Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud applications.

 

The client is requesting contractual services to address reporting development, data reconciliation, and data analysis relevant to the Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). Using Microsoft Excel, Infor Lawson data, Oracle Cloud Fusion Business Intelligence, and Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (BI & OTBI) as defined in the “Scope of Work” of this Statement of Work (SOW).

 

Scope of Work: 

Under general supervision, work efforts performed in support of this Statement of Work (SOW) are required to independently manage various implementation aspects as they relate to the Oracle Human Capital Management project while implementing recommended industry best practices across the department and the district.

The Senior Technical Data Analyst work may include the following:

    • Ability to recommend the most suitable methods of data extraction and comparison.
    • Ability to identify and understand the different data formats and structures from Infor Lawson and Oracle Cloud Fusion HCM systems.
    • Develop and generate reports that effectively present the comparison of data converted from each source system.
    • Create reports to highlight differences in matched data and the absence of data from the source to the destination.
    • Create reports to identify data that is in Lawson but not in HCM as well as the reverse, data in HCM not in Lawson.
    • The data from the HCM Oracle cloud conversion will be validated against the source Lawson tables.
    • Tailor the reports to allow Functional users to easily understand the highlighted data differences
    • Ensure that all data is reviewed, not just subsets of the data.
    • Document what tables and fields are being compared
    • Preliminary validation of the extracted Lawson data.
    • Document any limitations of the comparison
    • Assist functional users in the review of the comparison reports
    • Work with MCPS resources to resolve any issues that arise during the project.
    • Keep the client informed of progress and any roadblocks.
    • Attends meetings where reporting and analytics expertise is needed and represents the department in both internal and external settings.
    • Using Excel Microsoft add-ins
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams

 

Required Technical and Functional Skills: 

The contractor must have demonstrated knowledge of principles, concepts, methods of computer technology, and data analysis; good knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn MCPS' business processes about functions and technology of the business systems and services.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities must include:

 

    • 7 or more years of data analyst and/or relational database administrator experience working on large enterprise-wide implementation projects.
    • 5 or more years of experience working with large volumes of data from on-premise and cloud platforms.
    • Experience translating business requirements into data requirements
    • Experience in gathering and reviewing/comparing data from multiple sources, including but not limited to Oracle databases using Lawson LBI, or SQL, Excel spreadsheets, and vendor-generated reports.
    • Experience in creating complex pivot tables using Excel for data comparisons.
    • Experience in creating programs for data validation using SQL.
    • Expert experience with database queries and merging datasets using Microsoft Excel
    • Ability to design, generate, and validate results of analyses of complex data sets, and facilitate reporting to improve operational outcomes.
    • Ability to develop and maintain quality control standards and data reconciliation techniques for internal and external reporting.
    • Experience in developing and implementing algorithms for data analysis and modeling.
    • Ability to evaluate and select appropriate software tools, frameworks, and technologies.
    • Ability to identify patterns in data and communicate the findings clearly
    • Design and execute effective data visualization strategies for presenting complex data
    • Experience in managing complex projects and tasks while paying close attention to details.
    • A keen focus on customer satisfaction and team collaboration.
    • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging logic and creativity.
