Job Description: Windows Systems/Server Engineer/Administrator

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Systems/Server Engineer/Administrator to join our dynamic team in the San Francisco/Bay Area. This role emphasizes system administration over engineering and is critical for maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in IT management, particularly within the pharmaceutical or biotech industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Windows server environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Oversee Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, Intune, DNS, and Okta federated infrastructure.
• Administer core network components, including switches, access points (APs), routers, firewalls, VPNs, and WAN.
• Handle VMware infrastructure, virtual servers, and on-site storage and backup systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT initiatives and projects.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: 4-year Technical Degree.
• Certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Azure certifications.
• Experience:
  • 8+ years of IT/Engineering experience (US experience only).
  • 3+ years of experience with Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, Intune, DNS, and Okta federated infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience managing core network components, including switches, APs, routers, firewalls, VPN, and WAN.
  • 2+ years of experience with VMware infrastructure, virtual servers, and on-site storage and backup systems.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or health sciences domain.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Windows server environments and related technologies.
  • Proficient in network management and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with virtual infrastructure and storage solutions.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
