Job Title: Cognos Developer
Location: Remote (with occasional travel)
Client: Birlasoft
Duration: 12+ months

Responsibilities:

·       Monitor and troubleshoot existing Cognos BI reports, including framework models and PowerPlay cubes, ensuring the availability of Cognos reporting for end-users.

·       Ensure the integrity and validity of the data across reports.

·       Analyze BI requirements and enhance or create new Cognos Reporting solutions to support standard reporting, dashboards, storyboards, and a self-service environment.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and refine BI requirements.

·       Design and develop Cognos Reporting solutions tailored to support standard reporting, dashboards, storyboards, and self-service environments.

·       Work with stakeholders to define the business and presentation layers of the BI model, ensuring it is business-friendly and supports a self-service environment.

·       Perform unit and smoke testing of Cognos reports, ensuring that data in reports aligns with output from the database.

·       Manage and maintain security aspects of the BI Platform, including user/group provisioning, security role maintenance, and integration with Active Directory.

·       Assist with testing and verifying platform upgrades to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

Requirements:

·       Minimum 2 years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics, with at least 1 year of hands-on experience in advanced Cognos report development.

·       Proficiency with Cognos Analytics (11.x) and its product suite (Report Studio, Framework Manager, Transformer).

·       Strong working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and procedural SQL scripting languages.

·       Experienced in Framework Manager Dimensional Modeling, Transformer cube design, and development.

·       In-depth understanding of data warehousing and OLAP concepts.

·       Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interacting with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

·       Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze large, multi-dimensional data sets.

·       Motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Comfortable working independently and in a team.

Preferred:

·       Experience with JavaScript.

·       Experience working with data sourced from JD Edwards.

·       Experience working in a DevOps environment.

·       Understanding of SOX and project management principles and concepts.
