Job Title: Consultant – InfoSec Architect V

Location: Reston, VA (In-office once a week)

Duration: Potential Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Information Security Architect with a focus on AWS Cloud Security to lead and architect security solutions across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Information Security principles, cloud architecture, and data protection strategies, with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure security and compliance across the cloud environments. This role is essential for ensuring the security and risk posture of AWS environments based on established security policies, frameworks, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Lead and architect security solutions for AWS cloud environments, ensuring compliance with enterprise cloud security policies and industry standards.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners and Enterprise Architects, to design and implement secure systems.

·       Develop and maintain security frameworks and threat models for applications, APIs, and infrastructure.

·       Ensure the implementation of best practices in AWS services such as Compute, IAM, RDS, Network, CI/CD, AI/ML, Serverless, ECS/EKS, and others.

·       Design and implement security measures for data protection including encryption, masking, tokenization, and access controls.

·       Advocate for and apply security principles across the development lifecycle (DevSecOps).

·       Conduct security reviews, audits, and threat assessments to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.

·       Stay up to date on industry security standards and frameworks (OWASP, NIST, CIS, ISO, etc.), and apply them to cloud security designs.

·       Develop security policies, procedures, and best practices related to cloud architecture and data security.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

·       AWS Cloud Experience: Extensive experience in designing and architecting AWS cloud solutions and services (Compute, IAM, RDS, Resource Policies, Network, Messaging, Data Storage, CI/CD, AI/ML, Serverless, ECS/EKS, etc.).

·       Information Security Architecture Expertise: Proven track record in application security, threat modeling, API security, DevSecOps, pipeline security, infrastructure security, authentication/authorization, encryption, key management, data discovery, SIEM, CSPM, CWPP, and access controls.

·       Security Standards & Frameworks: Strong knowledge of security standards and frameworks (OWASP, NIST, CIS, FED Ramp, ISO, SOX, etc.).

·       Systems Architecture: Expertise in system design, API-driven architecture, Open Standards, stateless systems, high availability, and SaaS integrations.

·       Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to lead security architecture efforts in large, complex projects and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Product Owners and Enterprise Architects.

Nice-to-Have:

·       Certifications: AWS Advanced Certifications (Professional, Specialty), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or equivalent certifications.

·       AI/ML Expertise: Experience with AI/ML architecture in cloud environments.

Work Environment:

·       Hybrid role requiring in-office presence in Reston, VA at least once a week.
