Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional with a solid foundation in Java development and a proven track record of creating scalable, maintainable software solutions. We are specifically looking for candidates with substantial experience spanning 5 to 10 years. Individuals with significantly more experience (such as 15 or 24 years) may be overly specialized and are discouraged from applying as the role requires ongoing active coding.

Key Qualifications:

– A minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years of professional experience in Java development.

– Proficient with hands-on development and implementation, particularly using:

  – Core Java

  – Spring Boot framework

  – Design and development of Microservices and RESTful APIs

  – Spring Data JPA for persistence

– Practical experience with both cloud-based storage solutions, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like Spanner, Cloud SQL, and familiarity with   NoSQL databases, as well as traditional on-premises databases such as Oracle.

– Demonstrated problem-solving skills in production environments, with applications deployed on GCP or equivalent on-premises platforms.

– Understanding of GCP-native architecture and design principles is essential.

– Experience in containerizing Java Spring Boot applications, including the utilization of Docker and Kubernetes for packaging, deployment, and configuration tasks.

– Proficiency in establishing and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

– A strong grasp of widely-used design patterns, applicable to both Java and Microservices/REST APIs development.

– While not a criteria for immediately disqualifying candidates, familiarity with GraphQL is favorable, and direct experience with its implementation would be considered an advantageous asset.

Interested candidates must demonstrate a strong technical foundation, with practical knowledge of modern application development and deployment practices. Proven experience in addressing and resolving complex challenges in a production environment is crucial, particularly in a cloud-based or on-prem infrastructure setting.
