Position Overview:
As a Senior Data Engineer specializing in cloud solutions and possessing outstanding leadership capabilities, you will spearhead an imperative data migration initiative. Your background should encompass team coordination, direct client liaison, and mastery in the execution of cloud-driven data workflows.
Role Objectives:
– Team Oversight: Serve as the primary liaison for client relations, interpret business objectives into feasible assignments, allocate responsibilities among the development team, and oversee project milestones.
– Cloud Engineering Proficiency: Expert level understanding of at least one major cloud platform such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a focus on development and maintenance of robust data ingestion and processing architectures.
– Cloud Infrastructure Utilization: Direct involvement with GCP services such as Dataproc, Composer, and BigQuery.
– Technical Tools Expertise: Demonstrated ability with tools like Git for version control, Terraform for infrastructure as code, PySpark for large-scale data processing, and Jira for project management, all at an advanced skill level.
– Leadership of Project Execution: Manage a globally distributed team of four developers, in coordination with the client’s chief developer. The primary task entails the transition from on-premise Hadoop and PySpark workflows (initiated by Airflow) to cloud-based GCP Dataproc, organized using Composer.
– Data Integration Insight: Proficient in discerning Source-to-Target (S2T) mappings from spreadsheet environments to assure coherent data amalgamation into BigQuery.
Candidate Profile:
– Documented success as a Data Engineer, with a focus on cloud-centric ETL framework development.
– In-depth understanding of PySpark, Airflow (Composer), Terraform, and BigQuery technologies.
– Prior experience in guiding mixed onshore and offshore developer groups.
– Superb interpersonal and stakeholder engagement competencies.
