Power BI Developer

Job Summary:

Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Developer with deep expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M code (Power Query Formula Language). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex Power BI solutions that deliver insightful data visualizations and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Maintain Power BI Solutions: Design and implement high-quality Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring they are optimized for performance and user experience.
• Advanced DAX and M Code Development: Write and optimize complex DAX queries and M code to manipulate data, create calculated columns and measures, and perform advanced data transformations.
• Data Modeling: Build and maintain efficient data models within Power BI, ensuring that data relationships are properly established and that models are scalable and maintainable.
• Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files, into Power BI, using Power Query and other tools to clean, transform, and load data.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize the performance of Power BI reports, ensuring fast load times and responsive interactions.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and other team members to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights.
• Documentation and Best Practices: Document the design, development, and deployment processes, and contribute to the establishment and enforcement of best practices for Power BI development.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide ongoing support for existing Power BI reports and dashboards, troubleshooting issues as they arise and implementing enhancements as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or in a similar role.
  • Extensive experience with DAX and M code, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries and transformations.
  • Strong background in data modeling and ETL processes.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Experience with SQL, including writing complex queries and working with relational databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of other BI tools and data visualization best practices is desirable.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Contract – 12 months or more

Must have certifications such as SANS GIAC, CISSP, CISM.

Client is seeking API Security-Technical project manager with proven strong technical competence and leadership capability to contribute towards the success of enterprise-wide API security initiatives. The Senior API Security PM serves as a subject matter expert in API security and plays an integral role in managing, monitoring & reporting on API security risk reduction. 

Primary Responsibilities

Perform ongoing governance and follow-through with API owners to ensure implementation of threat-based requirements.

Develop, deliver and keep up-to-date API security standard requirements and design patterns.

Validate implementation of API security controls against outputs of vulnerability testing tools to enable auditability and verifiability.

Serve as an API security technical advisor to application teams.

Evangelize API security design principles.

Collaborate as API security subject matter expert within the organization.

Security and Technical Experience

Direct hands on experience developing and securing web APIs and web applications: REST, SOAP, gRPC.

Direct hands-on experience with security testing of web services and web APIs.

Solid hands-on experience with leading threat modeling exercises for applications and services.

Solid understanding of risk management, security architecture and secure SDLC practices.

Strong experience and understanding of API identity and access management controls: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT

Strong experience and understanding of familiarity with cryptography controls: Data at rest, in motion and in-use.

Experience with industry standards and frameworks: NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, OWASP, SANS Top 25.

Experience with Java, JavaScript and mobile application development.

Familiarity with database architectures: Oracle, SQL and NoSQL Databases.

Information security professional certifications such as SANS GIAC, CISSP, CISM.

Experience with service-oriented architectures and web services security.

Desired Skills: 

· Experience mentoring application security and secure development practices to team.

· Experience with DevOps processes in a Cloud/SaaS environment.

· Experience architecting, securing, and operating one or more public cloud environments: Amazon Web Services, Google App Engine, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.

· Experience with one or more emerging programming languages: Go, Rust.
