First look for consultant in PA or nearby only

Also look for candidates in OH and WV (must be able to drive to the Moon Twp, PA office when needed)

Only USC (due to their federal contracts, Green Cards are not accepted, US Citizens Only)

This client do need photo ID, SSN, DOB, LinkedIn URL – if anyone denied do not force them

 

  • Must have MS Azure Stack experience
  • Must have Architecture experience (not looking for an Engineer, must be at the Architect level)
  • Must have experience creating Architecture from scratch

 

Notes from HR:

  • Putting a new strategy in place and bring in some skillsets that they don’t have internally.  Want to stand up new environments and this person would design what that infrastructure would look like.  They have an outside consultant and want someone in house to help them.
  • Additionally looking to help their business colleagues to make better decisions for the business. Want to ensure that they are using the data usefully so they can consume the data properly.
  • They have a lot of systems- oracle, ERP etc., that are generating data.  Using this data to make business decisions about staffing and other decisions that the business makes.  For the executives understands how to make decisions. Also can show us that they have skill shortages in the company.
  • Data Architect will create the plumbing for the dashboards
  • Data Engineer will be more of the development of the data models- Microsoft Stack experience. Azure Synapse and Microsoft data landscape.  Any exposure to other spaces

  2. This person will be defining the standards of data and reporting. Have you done this?
  3. Have you done Data management standards?
  4. Have you done Data governance – working with the business to create these?

 

This position will oversee the build, maintenance, and governance of an integrative company-wide data model and data standards.  This role will strategically partner with data stewards across business areas and IT leadership to create a canonical data architecture. This enterprise model will be used for all data producing applications and processes. This position will strategically create roadmaps that will bring many sources of data together under one MDM/Data Catalog ecosystem to ensure single sources of truth, data quality, and maintain data standards/guidelines.

 

Description for Internal Candidates:

This position will oversee the build, maintenance, and governance of an integrative company-wide data model and data standards.  This role will strategically partner with data stewards across business areas and IT leadership to create a canonical data architecture. This enterprise model will be used for all data producing applications and processes. This position will strategically create roadmaps that will bring many sources of data together under one MDM/Data Catalog ecosystem to ensure single sources of truth, data quality, and maintain data standards/guidelines.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Improve quality of data by identifying and setting forth strategies for removing duplicates and missing data from source/record systems.
  • Improve consistency of data across many business function areas.
  • Streamline data models and flow of data for efficiency and speed of delivery.
  • Design, maintain, and enforce a company-wide standard for metadata naming standards.
  • Produce data model documentation outlining standards, guidelines, and strategies across the company. 
  • Define the vision, principles, and processes that guide Company data models.
  • Coordinate with IT directors and other technical managers to oversee the strategic development of technology roadmaps that align to delivering the business roadmaps.
  • Define and promote the standards, guidelines, and principles that the rest of IT uses to make its design and technology decisions to minimize risk through high quality design and supported technology.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Continual improvements in IT efficiency and effectiveness around:
    • Data Architecture.
    • Enterprise Data Model.
    • MDM solutions.
    • Data Cataloging.
    • Infrastructure simplification.
  • Search for areas where cost reduction opportunities may be available, such as cases where technology solutions can be leveraged across business lines.
  • Contribute ideas and insight to help optimize corporate information management resources to stay current with evolving business trends and new technologies.
  • Educate business leadership, IT leadership, and professionals on new changes to infrastructure and policies, with an emphasis placed on recognizing the need for such updates.
  • Share review findings and recommendations to executives and stakeholders, along with reports showing the progress in implementing new strategies.
  • Improve alignment of project decisions to data road maps by performing governance over projects to check for compliance with defined architecture and standards.
  • Promote new technology-based capabilities throughout organization based on technology R&D efforts.
  • Create a data quality and data governance scorecard to report key metrics on activities, progress, and results to provide stakeholders with a concise view of the effectiveness and value added.
  • Earn a reputation of credibility with application and infrastructure groups in order to provide IT leadership with and facilitate the successful adoption of data architecture standards throughout the organization.
  • Direct and coordinate data model and architecture with business units.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of previous experience as an IT professional. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Data Architect.

 

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Position requires US Citizenship
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure stack
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT strategic governance
  • Able to develop and consult with business units to achieve organizational goals.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, or a scripting language.
  • Experience in MDM/Data Cataloging technologies.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Data Architecture or related fields from a four-year academic institution required. Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or Data Architecture preferred.
