SDP6 Accessibility Developer

The Department of Management, Division of Information Technology (DoIT) is looking for a highly motivated .Net developer to join our Application Development (App Dev) team. This role is key to supporting the launch of a statewide initiative focused on increasing accessibility allowing all Iowans to interact with public service websites more fully.

The ideal candidate will:

• demonstrate solid knowledge of WCAG guidelines.
• perform manual and automated testing and document accessibility compliance.
• write reports describing accessibility issues and recommendations for resolving them.
• demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills, written communication skills, and presentation skills.
• thrive working in a collaborative team environment that embraces change and encourages innovation.
• This role will be remote Monday thru Friday during standard business hours.

Required Skills:

• ·C#, ASP.Net, MVC, CORE, Restful APIs
• ·Entity Framework or comparable ORM
• ·HTML/CSS, JavaScript, or jQuery
• ·Azure DevOps, GIT GitHub Enterprise
• ·Automated unit testing
• ·Developing on an agile scrum team
• ·TSQL language skills working with MS SQL
• ·Bootstrap 4 or above TypeScript/Angular 6 or above
• ·Knowledge of WCAG guidelines
• ·Experience with Accessibility Evaluation Tools
• ·Experience with Assistive Technologies across multiple platforms. Including Screen Readers, Magnification, and Read-aloud tools (e.g., Voiceover, NVDA, JAWS, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking).
