Designs and implements the components required for complex application features. Generally manages a group of applications system analysts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Professional certification is highly desirable. Project Managers are required to be qualified under the Commonwealth of Virginia Qualification Standards for IT Project Managers.
Individual is able to work without assistance; is able to manage complex work efforts; may have advanced education; may have deep industry experience; is expected to provide leadership for others. Typical experience level of 8 to 11 years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is for the remediation of the existing SSP and baseline backlog of submitting new requests

Ensurethat the Commonwealth of Virginia’s security requirements necessary to protectthe organization’s missions and business processes are adequately addressed inall aspects of the architecture including reference models, segment andsolution architectures, and the resulting systems supporting those missions andbusiness processes while documenting these into a system security plan.

Abilities
  • Ability to apply the methods, standards, and approaches for describing, analyzing, and documenting an organization’s security architecture.
  • Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements.
Experiences
  • Employ secure configuration management processes.
  • Evaluate security architectures and designs to determine the adequacy of security design and architecture proposed or provided in response to requirements contained in acquisition document.

Experience with Virginia state government DESIRED. If candidate has prior VA State gov exp it MUST be clearly reflected on their resume.

Individual is able to work without assistance; is able to manage medium complexity work efforts; has some industry experience; can provide limited leadership to others.

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for researching, planning and installing Enterprise Solutions that could comprised of networking or software technologies and supporting life safety systems that directly impact the public. Assesses existing network, software, and current solutions and makes recommendations based on product specifications and best cybersecurity practices. Configures equipment and software to meet business needs, trains others on the solution, and documents the solution for ongoing support. Functions as part of a team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects. Provides technical support and assists with the design of Infrastructure solutions. Requires experience in the technical services and support field as well as experience in systems and network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.)
