Job Description
The Senior Network Engineer performs senior level network support, diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution for routine to highly complex issues.  Independently troubleshoots complex problems with significant customer impact.   Makes decisions on recovery actions and solicits input from Technical Support Organizations and vendors when dealing with complex issues.  Follows procedures to coordinate and/or implement complex operationally driven changes.  Responds to break/fix issues, escalating to and managing vendors as needed. Monitors and maintains network equipment. Maintains documentation. Applies a general understanding of technical dependencies and alternatives to support customer needs in a 24×7 environment.
Updates technology incident records and documents all troubleshooting, diagnostic and recovery activities for significant problems.  Performs incident record maintenance and follows all standards in regards to ticket updating, resolving, closing, task creation and ticket rerouting.  Develops and updates IT Operations standard operating procedures and recovery documentation.  Works with vendors and engineers to develop and enhance documentation.
In this role, you will:
• Troubleshoot Complex / escalated network issues for Wells Fargo
• Participate in Major Incident Management conference calls and drives recovery efforts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incident tickets escalated from more junior engineers.
• Mentors and trains more junior engineers.
• Resolve incidents and complete break-fix changes in accordance with enterprise processes.
• Work with senior level internal technology resources along with 3rd party vendors/carriers.
• Provide SME level support for the entire network infra of the bank supporting technologies like routing/switching/F5/Firewalls/Proxies.
• Utilizes packet capture technologies to diagnose incident root cause.
• Troubleshoots issues related to Router/Switch Firewalls/Load Balancers/Proxy appliances.
• Work with vendors / vendor escalations (on complex issues)
Job Qualification
 
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Network Engineering experience and change management or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Required Qualifications, International:
• 5+ years experience in Network Operations, Network Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
• Excellent understanding on Routing & Switching concepts (RIP / OSPF / BGP)
• Ability to quickly analyze and troubleshoot data and voice network outages. Resolve Large admin/Enterprise issues for the bank.
• Extensive hands on experience in all Cisco Routers / Switches / Wireless devices; Cisco / Checkpoint Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, IP subnetting, Layer 2-4 stack understanding, VoIP, QoS, MPLS, SDWAN
• Experience with Arista routers and switches
• Excellent Customer Service Skills and communication skills.
• Ansible and Python knowledge or related automation experience
• Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of network automation.
• Knowledge and understanding of network management tools and protocols.
• Knowledge and understanding of network management tools: Packet Capture, Device Configuration Management, Incident Management Tools.
• Knowledge and understanding of technical experience including IP routing, switching, load balancing, proxy, fire wall, and advanced network automation techniques/solutions.
• Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting complex network topologies
• Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities
• Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
• Cisco Certifications (CCNA/CCNP)
