Job Title: GIS WAN WAMS Testing
Location: Charlotte, NC & Bethpage, NY (Onsite)

Duration : Long term

Responsibilities

  • GIS Testing: Perform detailed testing on GIS applications and platforms, ensuring data integrity, system accuracy, and compliance with required standards.
  • WAN Testing: Test Wide Area Network (WAN) systems, including routers, switches, and other network infrastructure components. Validate the network connectivity, performance, and efficiency across different geographical locations.
  • WAMS Testing: Focus on testing and validating WAMS (Wide Area Management Systems), ensuring its proper functionality in managing large-scale WANs.
  • Integration Testing: Test the integration of GIS, WAN, and WAMS systems with other enterprise applications and databases, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
  • Test Plan Development: Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts based on project requirements and functional specifications. Identify testing requirements for GIS and network systems.
  • Automated and Manual Testing: Perform both manual and automated tests to validate the behavior of GIS and WAN systems under different conditions, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify, analyze, and resolve issues related to GIS, WAN, and WAMS systems. Collaborate with development and network teams to debug and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Performance Testing: Evaluate the performance of GIS and WAN systems under varying loads, and identify performance bottlenecks, connectivity issues, or scalability concerns.
  • Documentation: Document test cases, test results, and defect reports. Maintain detailed records of test execution and results for review and compliance purposes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (including development, network engineering, and system administration) to ensure high-quality testing and system optimization.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in GIS testing, WAN testing, and WAMS testing.
  • Hands-on experience with network testing tools such as Wireshark, PingPlotter, NetFlow, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ESRI, ArcGIS, or similar tools.
  • Experience with network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and WAN optimization.
  • Knowledge of WAMS concepts and architecture.
  • Experience in both manual and automated testing practices.
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of GIS systems, network technologies, and WAMS.
  • Proficient in writing and executing test plans, test scripts, and test cases for GIS and WAN systems.
  • Knowledge of network performance testing and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to analyze complex network configurations and GIS data flows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify issues in network and GIS-related systems quickly.
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
