Job Title: Project Manager

Location : Jackson, MS

Duration: 12 Plus Months

The Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office (MSOS) is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to oversee and

coordinate two (2) consecutive projects:

 Project 47843: Business Services & Filing (Primary focus)

 Project 47844: Campaign Finance & Lobbying (Ancillary support)

The PM will act as the primary liaison between MSOS personnel and third-party development teams, ensuring smooth communication, coordination, and project execution. While Campaign Finance & Lobbying will be largely managed by the Division Head for Elections, the PM will provide project management support. The Business Services & Filings project will require the PM’s primary focus, as it has the largest scope and complexity. Some key functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Develop, implement, and maintain project plans, schedules, and deliverables.

 Act as the central point of contact for internal MSOS teams and third-party vendors.

 Ensure clear communication of project goals, expectations, and deadlines.

 Track project progress and resolve issues that may impact timelines or deliverables.

 Coordinate project status meetings, reports, and documentation.

Required Skills/Experience

 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in government or technology-related projects.

 Experience managing software development projects and vendor relationships.

 Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).

 Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, or equivalent).

 Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred/Not Required

PMP, CAPM, or other relevant project management certification.

 Experience with state government agencies or regulatory environments.

 Familiarity with business registration, filing systems, or campaign finance processes.
