Role: Python Engineer
Location – Bellevue- Washington state
Job Description:
- Software Development: Write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code in Perl and Python to automate tasks and support backend systems.
- Unix & Scripting: Leverage Unix systems to write Shell scripts for automating processes, managing data, and optimizing system performance.
- System Integration: Design and integrate backend components and services to ensure seamless communication between systems and applications.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose issues, optimize performance, and ensure the stability and scalability of the systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, etc.) to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for scripts, codebases, and system configurations.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, review code, and provide guidance on best practices in Perl, Python, and system administration.
Good to Have Skills:
- Hadoop: Experience with Hadoop ecosystems for large-scale data processing.
- Kafka: Familiarity with Kafka for real-time data streaming and message brokering.
- Network/Telecom Domain Knowledge: Understanding of the networking and telecom domains, including protocols, data transmission, and system architectures.
- Web Development: Exposure to web development technologies, particularly in the context of backend services.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Perl: Extensive experience writing Perl scripts for data processing, system automation, and backend tasks.
- Python: Strong experience with Python, especially for backend development, automation, and integration tasks.
- Unix: Proficiency in Unix/Linux systems and familiarity with system-level programming and administration.
- Shell Scripting: Strong knowledge of Shell scripting (Bash, Korn, etc.) for automation and system management.
Desirable Skills:
- Hadoop: Familiarity with big data processing frameworks like Hadoop, and related tools (Hive, Pig, etc.).
- Kafka: Knowledge of Kafka for message streaming and integrating distributed systems.
- Network/Telecom Knowledge: Understanding of telecom protocols, network troubleshooting, and telecom infrastructure.
- Web Development: Experience in building web services, RESTful APIs, or web applications.
