Position: Systems Engineer

Location: Hybrid. Candidates are required to go onsite once a week in the DC Office sometime early next year.

Duration:12 Months CTH

Interview Process: 2 rounds of interview, (1st round is phone screening, 2nd round is face-to-face in UCP, 840 First Street NE, Washington, DC 20065)

Job Description:

CareFirst is hiring two Systems Engineers to support the infrastructure and operations of its claims processing application, FEP Bridge.                                                                                                                                                       

•          Systems Engineer (Monitoring Focus): Handles system and application monitoring using Dynatrace to maintain performance, reliability, and system health.

•            Systems Engineer (Technical Standup Calls): Running the daily technical operations by managing tasks in JIRA and using Kanban boards. Requires a good understanding of system infrastructure and team workflows. ”                                                                                                                                                              

•          5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer focusing on executing infrastructure operations

•            Hands-on networking experience, including IP addresses, DNS, public vs. private IPs, and firewall rules.

•            Experience in Linux for system reboots, maintenance, patches, and disk management.

•            For the Monitoring Focused role:

o            3+ years of experience in monitoring tools. The team’s primary monitoring tool is Dynatrace (highly preferred). Would consider alternative tools like AppDynamics, Datadog, Splunk, etc.

o            Experienced with SFTP for secure file transfers

o            Experienced with message queues (MQ).

•            Bachelor’s degree in a related field. ”

o            Scrum Master background is a plus.
