ServiceNow Solution Architect is responsible for the overall architecture, design, implementation, and integrity of ServiceNow ITSM applications as well as implementation and development migration of applications on the ServiceNow platform within the enterprise and is responsible for ensuring that the solution delivered to business units are engineered in accordance with corporate architecture and infrastructure standards.
Key Responsibilities:
§ Architecture Design:
§ Strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform and its functionalities.
§ Provide subject matter expertise, act as technical product advocate, design, develop and implement ITIL processes, ITSM, ITOM, SACM, Knowledge, Demand and Release Management modules within ServiceNow platform.
§ Implement technology specific best practices and standards.
§ Proposes data model, design changes to processes and products, exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment.
§ Designs and develops extensions to ServiceNow data model in support of requirements towards CMDB, SACM and other modules.
§ Requirements analysis:
§ Translates requirements into functional and technical requirements.
§ Reviews and refines designs for usability, review testing scenarios and refines test cases, to ensure applications quality and works with users to review test results to ensure they meet expected results. Support and coordinate scheduling and execution of releases, product upgrades, new technology deployments.
§ Technical documentation:
§ Produces and maintains detailed system documentation including design specs, maintenance, troubleshooting, deployment, disaster recovery, tech notes, and testing, etc.
§ Develop technical design documents: create and maintain the current state of the ServiceNow platform architecture documentation and provide the architectural control.
§ Communication and collaboration skills:
o Translate technical complexities to project stakeholders and make sure they understand the effects of the design decisions on the areas of ServiceNow Platform.
§ Implementation & Delivery
o Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead assignments/teams and mentor others and build a team.
o Guide developers, administrators, and other stakeholders throughout the implementation process.
o Provide excellent customer service, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
o Demonstrate strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills.
o Assist in ServiceNow planning and execution.
o Configuration & customization: Configure ServiceNow modules and workflows to align with specific business requirements.
o Integration with existing systems: Ensure seamless integration between ServiceNow and other enterprise applications.
o Testing & validation: Conduct thorough testing to ensure the solution functions as designed and meets performance benchmarks.
A Cloud Applications Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based applications by leveraging cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions, working closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems, and maintaining expertise in the latest cloud technologies to optimize application performance and architecture.
Key responsibilities:
§ Requirements analysis:
§ Understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications for cloud applications.
§ Cloud architecture design:
§ Create comprehensive cloud application architectures using best practices for scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
§ Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms: Expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) including their services, features, and best practices
§ Cloud platform selection:
§ Evaluate and recommend suitable cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) based on project requirements.
§ Application architecture design: Strong knowledge of application design principles, including microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures
§ Application migration strategy: Develop plans to migrate existing applications to the cloud, including data migration and transformation.
§ Security design:
§ Implement robust security measures for cloud applications, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
§ Knowledge of cloud security principles and compliance requirements
§ Cost optimization:
§ Analyze and optimize cloud resource usage to minimize costs.
§ Technical documentation:
§ Create detailed technical documentation for cloud application designs, deployment processes, and maintenance procedures.
§ Collaboration with development teams:
§ Work closely with developers to ensure successful implementation of cloud applications according to the designed architecture.
§ Monitoring and troubleshooting:
§ Monitor cloud application performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
§ Programming languages: Proficiency in relevant programming languages depending on application development needs (e.g., Java, Python, .NET)
§ Networking concepts: Understanding of network protocols, load balancing, and network security
§ Database management: Familiarity with cloud-based databases (e.g., RDS, Cosmos DB) and data management practices
§ Communication and collaboration skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
§ Relevant certifications:
§ AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, Microsoft Azure Certified Solutions Architect Expert, and Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect.
