CareFirst is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the consolidation of FEPOC’s monitoring systems into DataDog to monitor mostly Java-based applications.      Some of the projects include migration of log management from Nagios to DataDog,  network device monitoring and network performance monitoring from SolarWinds to DataDog, Synthetic monitoring from CloudBeat to DataDog, and a few more upcoming DataDog related implementation/migration projects. The hired resource will be responsible for log management, network monitoring, and synthetic monitoring mostly but may also include dashboard creation, and cloud monitoring.

 

  • 3+ years of experience in monitoring Java-based applications using an enterprise monitoring tool. 
  • 3+ years Datadog experience doing log management, network monitoring
  • 5+ years of overall IT experience
  • Linux environment experience
  • Experience working with DataDog for monitoring of AWS applications
  • DataDog dashboard creation experience 
  • Agile/SAFe methodology experience
  • Experience with any other monitoring tools (Nagios, AppDynamics, SolarWinds, etc.)
  • Ansible automation scripting experience
