Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Architect with a strong focus on Databricks to join our elite Data and AI team. This role requires deep technical expertise, hands-on project delivery, and the ability to mentor junior developers. You will be instrumental in architecting, designing, and implementing advanced data solutions and helping drive innovation within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Leadership:
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance cloud data architectures using Azure Databricks.
- Develop best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and storage on the Azure platform.
- Technical Expertise:
- Utilize Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Blob Storage, Event Hubs, and Azure SQL.
- Optimize Databricks environments for performance and cost efficiency.
- Apply advanced knowledge of Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Mentorship:
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering technical growth within the team.
- Conduct code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Project Delivery:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure adherence to data security and compliance requirements.
- Innovation and Strategy:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in Azure, Databricks, and AI/ML technologies.
- Drive innovation by proposing new tools, technologies, or methodologies to enhance our data estate.
Required Skills:
- Core Technical Skills:
- Strong experience in Azure Databricks, Spark, and Python/Scala.
- Expertise in Azure services like Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Storage solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of data engineering, ETL pipelines, and cloud-based data solutions.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., MLflow) is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Leadership qualities with a proven ability to mentor and inspire teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cloud data architecture, with 4+ years working on Azure Databricks.
- Certification in Azure (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) is preferred.
