Title : Senior Database Specialist

Location : Charlotte, NC (Initial 3 months remote )

Contract.

Rate is $50/hr on C2C.

Responsibilities

Responsible for carrying out database development tasks in assigned teams. Must be able to operate effectively and collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals with wide variety of skillsets and establish a cordial/healthy relationship. Understanding business and technical requirements to carryout development tasks in a meaningful manner. Collaborate with the developers and application leads/architects to deliver solutions based on Moody’s standards and requirements. Partner with application support and development teams to deliver resilient and cost-effective solutions that meet demanding business requirements. Enabling/Participating /Contributing to an environment of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and teamwork

Qualifications

• Mandatory Bachelor’s in Engineering/Computer science
• 9+ years of total software development experience. Demonstrate strong and hands-on experience and background in database principles and concepts.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience with at least one of the databases including Postgres, Oracle, Teradata, DB2, Sybase etc. Strong/Proficient in SQL and writing/understanding stored procedures, packages and PL/SQL programming in general.
• Good background in Data Profiling, Data Analytics workloads and their role in development of data related processes. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and use analytical ability to find innovative solutionsGood communication and inter-personal skills

Added Advantage Understanding of Extract-Transform-Load(ETL)/Extract-Load-Transform(ELT) concepts with clear understanding in each of the stagesHands-on expertise with traditional ETL tools like Informatica, Talend etc. is an added advantage.

Exposure to any cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and experience in building data engineering solutions in the cloudHands-on experience with building data engineering solutions using tools/technologies like Python, Spark, Kafka, AWS Glue, S3, RDS, Redshift etc
