Job Description: 

Quest Global, a leading company in the Aerospace and Defense industry, is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Avionics Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and documenting electrical circuit card assemblies.

In this role you will interact with multidisciplinary project teams involving mechanical, electrical (digital/analog), RF, and software engineering in planning, design, prototyping, and testing of avionics transponders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design, support fab, and integrate digital, analog, and power circuitry, with supplemental RF principles, in the avionics realm.
  • Electrical schematic generation and review with support for and review of CAD layout (preferred skills with Altium).
  • Design circuits with microprocessors, memory, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, high-speed busses including PCIE, and various avionics interfaces.
  • Generate detailed electrical schematics and oversee the creation of PCB layouts and routing designs.
  • Generate design documents including HRDs, HDDs, and HCIAs
  • Lead the design and development of processor CCAs for the T3CAS product line, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and integration with the selected RTOS.
  • Create and maintain Hardware Change Impact Assessment (HCIA) and Plan for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC) (PHACs).
  • Develop prototype designs and participate in the verification and validation process to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Conduct comprehensive electrical analyses to support design decisions, including power distribution and stress analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform Design for Excellence (DFX) reviews, focusing on manufacturability, testability, and cost-effectiveness.

Work Experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science. Prefer Electrical Engineering. 
  • Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience in an electrical engineering role, including requirements definition, requirements verification, design reviews and documentation, integration, test and demonstration.
  • Hands on experience designing and developing avionics products, preferably for surveillance (TCAS), displays, and/or recorders.
  • Proficiency in RTOS integration and understanding of its implications on hardware design.
  • Strong experience with hardware design tools for schematic capture, PCB layout, and routing.
  • Familiarity with electrical analysis tools for power distribution, stress analysis, and other relevant simulations.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for hardware design and development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Must be a US Person which requires US Citizenship or being a Green Card holder
