Job Title: Windows Operating System Admin/Engineer

Location: New York NY (NEED LOCAL ONLY)

Pay: US$55-60/hr on C2C

Key Responsibilities:

• System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based servers and systems, ensuring performance, availability, and security.
• Infrastructure Management: Support Active Directory, Group Policy management, DNS, DHCP, and related services to maintain a secure and stable infrastructure.
• Patch Management: Implement and manage regular updates, patches, and security improvements to Windows systems, ensuring compliance with security policies and minimizing downtime.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively resolve bottlenecks. Regularly assess system health and implement best practices for resource utilization.
• Troubleshooting: Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution for server and OS issues, collaborating with support and development teams to address complex challenges.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts to automate routine maintenance tasks and improve operational efficiency using PowerShell and other scripting languages.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security protocols, including antivirus, firewall configurations, and system hardening. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, policies, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Manage backup and recovery systems, ensuring data integrity and fast recovery options in case of failures or incidents.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Technical Skills:

• 8+ years of experience as a Windows System Administrator/Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, and above) and Windows OS (10, 11).
• Strong experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and other core Windows infrastructure services.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
• Experience with patch management, backup, and recovery tools.
• Knowledge of automation tools and scripting, especially PowerShell.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., SCCM, SolarWinds, or equivalent).
• Experience with cloud-based Windows environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
