Role: Network and Telecom Engineer

Job Summary
Under general supervision n, is responsible for developing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting complex network and/or telecom IT infrastructure in the cloud and on premises, while executing strategy set by Architects. Provides subject matter expertise in a range of areas related to network, messaging, microwave, radio, or telecom infrastructure. Exercises technical supervision over assigned staff.
Essential Job Functions
· Installs, configures, tests, and maintains complex networks, telecom, microwave, or radio infrastructure across a platform.
· May develop internal and external interface compatibility of the network, messaging, telecom or radio systems, platforms, and subsystems.
· Performs scripting by using a tool or combination of tools to automate a task or a series of tasks across a platform.
· Designs, develops, and complies with Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements.
· Designs, and documents new or modified network, messaging, telecom and/or radio solutions, rest activities/results, installation instructions and other areas such as error handling.
· Collaborates with developers and is responsible for development operations.
· May use technology to implement automation and orchestration.
· Develops and evaluates technical requirements relative to network, messaging, microwave, telecom, or radio frequency systems.
· Evaluates existing applications and platforms and provide recommendations for improving network performance by overseeing and participating in gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications.
· Develops capacity planning models and load-balancing and redundancy solutions using a variety of techniques to monitor networks, sites, hand-held radios, interference, and other events.
· Manages site acquisition activities related to network infrastructure installations.
· Participates in planning efforts with management.
· Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
· Five (5) years of relevant networking experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Knowledge of development, security, & operations principles and methods
· Knowledge of network security concepts, firewalls, and load balancers
· Knowledge of the practical application of role-specific engineering and technology
· Skill in utilizing a broad range of network system monitoring and management tools to include
· Skill in applying a broad range of telecom & radio principles
· Skill in working in an agile environment
· Skill in successfully communicating with people at all levels
· Ability to use sophisticated test equipment
· Ability to provide demonstrations and presentations to both individuals and small groups
· Ability to create both technical and non-technical end-user documentation
· Ability to perform all the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodations
· Ability to work primarily in an office environment
