Title: Mainframe developer
Location: Austin, TX (Remote)
Responsibilities
• Make code changes in accordance with standards, guidelines, and design documents; coordinate testing, debugging, and prepare test data while interacting with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Build production software systems and manage data integration and data quality.
• Utilize IBM technologies, including Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, DB2 for z/OS, and MVS/JCL.
• Use Software AG's NATURAL and address complex application security requirements.
• Work with Texas CPA Statewide Financial Systems (e.g., USAS, USPS, SPRS, TINS, HRIS, SPA) and apply Agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence).
• Proficiently use Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, TEAMS, Microsoft Project, Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Requirements
• 12 years of experience making code changes, coordinating testing and debugging, and building production software systems.
• 5 years of experience with IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, IBM DB2 for z/OS, MVS/JCL, and data integration and quality.
• 5 years of experience with Software AG's NATURAL and managing complex application security requirements.
• 2 years of experience with Texas CPA Statewide Financial Systems and Agile development methodologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; 5 years of preferred experience with CICS Web Services and CONTROL-M for z/OS.
• 5 years of preferred public sector experience and designing/implementing secure RESTful web services.
• 2 years of preferred experience with code reviews, containerized web applications, AWS services, and developing apps using Python, React JS, and NodeJS.
• 1 year of preferred experience designing and building microservices, working with Agile teams, and Java programming, along with coaching junior developers.
• 1 year of preferred knowledge of BMC Code Pipeline, Topaz, and IDz/Eclipse for Mainframe
