Job Overview:
The Infrastructure Solutions Architect is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and related infrastructure, including network equipment. This role supports system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures, ensuring they adhere to Commonwealth policies, standards, and guidelines. The ideal candidate will manage system administration, network design, cybersecurity measures, backup solutions, and performance monitoring while supporting end-user needs and resolving technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to Tier 1-3 support requests and troubleshoot issues associated with end-user resources.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with team members and customers of varying technical expertise.
- Configure and deploy new/replacement network equipment and workstations.
- Monitor system resources for server/network anomalies and maintain accurate records for inventory, maintenance, and changes.
- Perform daily system monitoring and security monitoring to ensure system integrity and identify possible intrusions.
- Manage daily backup operations, including file archival and purging, as necessary.
- Apply operating system patches and upgrades regularly, upgrade system software, and configure system services.
- Perform system performance reporting for capacity planning and conduct ongoing performance tuning and hardware upgrades.
- Support team efforts in improving cybersecurity defenses, threat hunting, and mitigation.
- Manage time and resource constraints effectively to ensure smooth operations.
