• Expertise in Netezza database administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of database concepts, architecture, and best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting and query optimization.
• Experience with Netezza high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of database security principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Should be flexible to work in Shift and oncall support on any critical situations.

Responsibilities
As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Netezza databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions to meet the needs of our organization.

• Manage, monitor, and maintain Netezza databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
• Identify and resolve performance issues, optimize queries, and fine-tune database configurations to improve efficiency and response times.
• Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime in case of failures or disasters.
• Implement and enforce database security policies, roles, and permissions to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches.
• Configure and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, such as clustering on Openshift.
• Collaborate with developers and architects to design and optimize database schemas, indexes, and data structures for performance and scalability.
• Apply patches, service packs, and updates on IBM Netezza ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
• Set up and configure database monitoring tools to proactively monitor performance metrics, disk space, and other vital parameters. Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to prevent service disruptions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for database,schemas,tables, configurations, and procedures etc.
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure scalability and efficient utilization of database server resources.
