JOB TITLE : AWS POSTGRES DBA
LOCATION: CA, NJ, NC – Onsite role.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases on AWS, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Monitor database performance and implement best practices for optimization, including query optimization, indexing, and database tuning.

Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.

Ensure the security of database systems by implementing best practices for access control, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.

Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine DBA tasks, such as backups, monitoring, and patch management.

Collaborate with cloud engineering team to design and optimize AWS infrastructure for database systems, including VPCs, security groups, and IAM roles
-
10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with at least 4+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL on AWS.

In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, replication, and backup/recovery.

Strong experience with AWS services related to databases, such as RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Bash for automation tasks.

Certifications: AWS Certified Database – Specialty or other relevant certifications are a plus
