Field Safety Advisor| Hartwell, GA 30643 | Client: Nestle Purina | Working with Prime Vendor

Location: Hartwell, GA 30643(Onsite 100%) | Duration: 12 months | Work Authorization: USC and GC

 

The Field Safety Advisor is responsible for administering and overseeing the work authorization process. They are required to monitor the jobsite for “at risk” worker behaviors and worksite conditions. The Field Safety Advisor ensures the Project Site Safety and Health Plan is communicated and utilized by all project contractors. They are responsible for all project safety communications and participating in Incident investigations and corrective actions.

Required:

•  Travel: None | Relocation at own expense, no Per Diem.

•   Schedule/Rotation: Typically 6-day work weeks, max 65 hrs/wk for 3 weeks and then 4 days off (Fri-Mon).

     Then, Returning on Tuesday.

•   3+ years Construction Related Experience or Safety Degree with 5+ years + OSHA 30 certification.

•   Safety Role Experience.

•    High Level of Hazard Recognition.

•    Monitor the jobsite for “at risk” worker behaviors and worksite conditions.

•    Ensures the Project Site Safety and Health Plan is communicated and utilized

•    Participating in Incident investigations and corrective actions.

•    Implement the Project Site Safety Plan.

BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS (Minimum):

• 3+ years Construction Related Experience or Safety Degree with 5+ years + OSHA 30 certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• OSHA 500/510 and an accredited Certification.

• Nestle / Advanced Safety Culture Experience.

• Computer Skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Allocation of Time: On-Site Safety Function – 100%.

• Leads by action and example with a sincere attitude toward managing risk every day.

• Fosters a proactive culture by working directly with Safety Managers and Supervisors.

• Understand and implement the Project Site Safety Plan.

• Coordinate/Communicate with NPE Field Management on a day-to-day basis.

• Ensure Project Safety Manager and Director are informed of high-level safety issues.

• Communicate/promote safe practices through various safety interactions with workforce.

• Contribute to development and management of Project risk assessments.

• Contribute or assist in the Project Contractor Supervisor On-Boarding Orientation.

• Assist in required monthly metric reports including injuries, training and man-hours.

• Assist site contacts with identifying/monitoring/documenting safety observations.

• Review/oversee compliance to the Project Contractor Safety Handbook.

• Attend Daily Operational Review meetings and contribute safety information as needed.

• Attend and contribute to daily contractor POND supervisor meeting.

• Attend and contribute to weekly “All hands” safety meeting.

• Attend and provide safety leadership for pre-construction planning meetings.

• Administer, Manage and Assess daily CMRP/PTW Process.

• Assist contractors to identify controls / countermeasures to meet project standards.

• Correct, Communicate and Document daily findings and improvement opportunities.

• Perform or Contribute to incident investigations as needed.

• Ensure the execution of the established Site Safety Program and SAF-072 Guidelines.

• Advise company supervision of compliance and of conditions requiring attention.

• Daily documented Workplace monitoring and assessments.

• Regularly Verify Individual Contractor Training Documentation.

• Facilitate and Maintain the Monthly Contractor Performance reviews.

• Regularly monitor and verify supervision huddles are effective.

• Responsible for Final site walk through at end of shift.

• Construction Industry Understanding.

• Regular Computer Abilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for agreed safe way of working with Contractors.

• Report all Incidents.

• Initial Care for all injured persons.

• Secure Workplace during incident investigations.

• Escalate safety issues as needed.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Safety Advisor will routinely engage with:
• Project Safety Director.
• Project Safety Advisors (Colleagues).
• Project Leadership Team Members.
• Corporate Project Leadership.
• Contractor Supervisors and Superintendents.
• Safety Committed Members.
