Role: Senior Universe DBA
Location: Houston, TX (Day 1 Onsite)
Duration: Contract
Job Description:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
- 8 – 12 years of corporate IT experience as an Database Administrator in a global environment.
- Design and maintain Universe files and environments, Create/resize files and the impact of using Hashed, Dynamic and Distributed files.
- Resolving daily operational issues, file resizing monthly maintenance, supporting development efforts & resolving general user problems.
- Understand how to repair broken universe files.
- Performance Tuning / Backup / Recovery Strategies
- DR / HA setup
- Manage Universe Background jobs
- Debugging performance issues as they relate to universe programs.
- Interfacing to non-Universe systems (TSCAN, Paper Tiger etc)
- Ability to technically drive Major Incident call independently
- Ability to create service reports, SLA tracking and delivery of contractual commitment
- Flexible in terms of working in US Central shift if offshore
- Location: Preferable Houston, TX if in Onsite
