Clearance Requests – NA
Job Duration – 3+ months Contract (520 hours)
Must have skills: PowerScale, Should also have experience with ECS and Superna
Project Tasks
Daily management of 6 PowerScale clusters
• 2 LPR application, live data on both, application handles ‘replication’
• 2 Core shares/exports – replication between 2 data centers, usually one is active, one standby
• 1 Core new build, not used – needs firewall rules created for data access. Currently no use case defined
• 1 Computer Crimes – used specifically for this department. Data needs to be kept separated from all other data
• alerts, synciq, virus protection, quotas, health, new shares/exports, cluster jobs
• ECS archiving for several shares (10)
• Small file efficiency for 1 share
Code Upgrades
• Defined as N-1 done on 6 month rotation, recommended by Dell to go to the latest LTS version
• 4 clusters an be done using the parallel upgrade option
• 2 clusters (Core) need to be failed over to the secondary to make the upgrading cluster clear of any active shares/exports
InsightIQ
• 6-month code review
• move to PowerScale IIQ 5 (future)
Superna
• Currently using Eyeglass to manage any cutovers between the two Core clusters
• Implemented Auditing and Ransomware for one Core cluster only
• Ransomware set up in ‘learning’ or monitoring mode and only reporting on alerts, taking snapshots but no other actions
• Ongoing code upgrades and changing host systems from SUSE open source (free) to licensed version (NYPD requirement
Important to note: Candidate will need to go onsite for the customer interview. If selected, the candidate will need to complete a Dell and customer background check which includes fingerprinting before the candidate can start.
