Job Description: AWS Cloud Native Developer
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 12 Months
Position Overview
As an AWS Cloud Developer at GTA, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable cloud solutions on the AWS platform. You will work on the GTA CJEP project, modernizing the Criminal Justice Exchange Program to enhance data sharing between various agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development: Create cloud-native applications on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
Serverless Architectures: Implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda functions with Python.
Workflow Orchestration: Build workflows with AWS Step Functions and AWS State Machines.
Web Services Implementation: Design and develop SOAP-based web services, ensuring custom header security and data integrity.
Data Transmission: Implement MTOM attachments (e.g., PDFs) for efficient binary data transmission.
Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners and Scrum master’s to refine user stories and deliver iterative solutions.
Quality Assurance: Ensure code quality and scalability through automated testing, code reviews, and best practices.
Troubleshooting: Resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on AWS services and share insights within the team.
Experience:
8+ years as a software developer with a strong understanding of cloud computing principles.
5+ years designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS.
5+ years implementing serverless architectures using AWS Lambda with Python.
5+ years building workflows using AWS Step Functions and State Machines.
5+ years designing SOAP-based web services and working with XML, XSD, and WSDL.
3+ years working in Agile methodologies and SCRUM frameworks.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Python; familiarity with other programming languages is a plus.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (preferred).
Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.
Certifications: AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer) are highly desirable.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
