Job Description:   

•          CLIENT LOCATION: 201 W. Washington Ave., Madison, WI, 53703

•          WORK ARRANGEMENT: 99% Remote. POSTING IS FOR WISCONSIN-BASED CANDIDATES ONLY (OR THOSE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO WISCONSIN WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE START DATE). Candidates NOT located IN WISCONSIN or NOT willing TO RELOCATE within that timeframe will NOT be considered and should not be submitted. ALL WORK MUST BE DONE IN WISCONSIN.

 

DETAILS:

DCF seeks a self-motivated Business Intelligence developer who will serve as a technical leader and solution manager for DCF’s BI reporting tools, including Business Objects and Tableau Server. This position will:

•          Lead the support and administration of enterprise-wide business intelligence and visualization applications (Business Objects Tableau).

•          Researches and develops development of tools and solutions to increase data usability and data engagement across multiple program areas and supports the acquisition of new tools.

•          Works with enterprise-wide business and IT senior management to understand and prioritize BI data and information reporting needs.

•          Solves complex technical problems and provides expertise in data visualization architecture and solutions, including dashboard & data security and sharing considerations.

•          Optimizes the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index improvements that add value to the user.

•          Develop dashboard development standards and quality metrics and create testing methodology and criteria.

•          Designs and coordinates a curriculum for coaching and training customers in using business intelligence tools to enhance business decision-making capacity.

•          Develops standards, policies, and procedures for the form structure and attributes of the business intelligence tools and systems.

•          Researches new technology and develops business cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions.

•          Designs and coordinates the security model for business intelligence tools, visualization data sets, users' roles, and request processes.

Interview Process:

•          Phone and web-based interviews will be acceptable. However, an in-person interview may be required.

•          Interviews will be set up shortly after the posting close date.

Equipment:

•          Candidate will be required to provide their own equipment for this position.

•          Technical specifications of hardware are:

o          Home Internet Service: Minimum 20 Mbit down and 5 Mbit up. The candidate needs to be able to plug a network (cat 5a or better) cable into the computer.

 

o          Windows Computers:

          Operating System: Windows 10

          Memory: Minimum 4 GB, Preferred 8 GB+

          Processor (CPU): Any 32-bit or 64-bit running 2 Gigahertz (GHz) or faster

          Graphics card that supports Direct3D 11 Video

          Installation of the latest VMware Horizon Client

 

o          Apple Computers:

          Operating System: MacOS: 10.14, 10.15, or 11

          Memory: Minimum 4GB, preferred 8 GB+

          Processor (CPU): Any 64-bit Intel-based Mac or ARM M1-based Mac running in emulation with Rosetta 2

          Installation of the latest VMware Horizon Client

o          Full audio/video conferencing capabilities (camera and headset) are required.

•          Selected candidates will not be assigned specific workspace; however, they may be required to report in person as needed with minimal notice.

 

Additional Details:

•          Candidate must follow ALL DCF work rules.

•          The candidate must be available to perform all work during Central Standard Time (CST) business hours, which are 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or CST hours as defined by the hiring manager).

•          Duration: 6/30/2025 with the potential to extend for an additional term(s)

•          This position is currently remote. However, position status is subject to change.

•          The candidate MUST be a Wisconsin resident or willing to relocate to Wisconsin at their own expense prior to starting the role.

•          The selected candidate will be required to sign all onboarding documents as part of the onboarding process and complete any security training as directed by the division, department, or agency.

•          The selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and any fingerprinting as needed for the position.

•          This position is budgeted for 1960 hours annually. Hours will be prorated for the first year based on the start date.

•          DCF does not sponsor work visas either at the time of hire or at any later date.

•          Suppliers must disclose any/all levels of sub-contracting and their respective supplier’s name(s).

•          Selected candidates must provide copies of any/all certifications as part of the hiring process.
