Position Overview:
Under broad supervision, the QA Tester/Analyst will drive the overall QA planning, tracking, and reporting for project(s). This role includes executing test lifecycle deliverables using standard methodologies and procedures to ensure successful implementation of the Test Strategy/Plan for GDOT.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Test custom applications and GIS components.
- Actively interact with various teams.
- Create and document test plans, scenarios, and cases.
- Execute tests, analyze results, and report issues from a business end-user perspective.
- Operate within an Agile framework to support testing needs.
- Ensure test cases follow QA standards and ensure metrics are functional.
- Collaborate closely with business partners, PMO, and Vendor technical delivery teams to understand requirements.
- Ensure timely and planned software testing, escalating issues or risks as necessary.
- Assist business SMEs and analysts in developing UAT test scenarios using test cases.
- Participate in defect triage meetings and demos.
- Report weekly status to the Quality Assurance Testing Lead.
Education:
Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
General Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development project testing.
- Experience (3 years) with mid-scale or large-scale system development projects, including:
- Test automation
- Test strategy development
- Executing test scripts and plans
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in reviewing and analyzing system specifications (e.g., System Requirements, Business Requirements, Design Documents).
- Skilled in manual testing and/or automated testing using supported tools.
- Ability to identify missing test cases, create new ones, and modify existing cases for accurate and efficient test coverage.
- Experience documenting Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM) and confirming applications are UAT-ready.
- Experience documenting Test Cases and Test Results.
- Proficiency in preparing sample data for testing.
Skills in:
- System testing
- Parallel/comparative testing

- Business continuity/disaster recovery testing
- Post-go-live testing/validation
- Experience with mobile device testing is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, including troubleshooting, problem-solving, and issue isolation.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate product quality throughout the development life cycle.
- Experience (3+ years) with tools such as GitHub, ServiceNow, TFS, and JIRA.
Specialized Experience:
- Proficiency in STLC concepts and best practices.
- Experience in running tests for application functions.
- Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with defect management tools (TFS / JIRA).
- Preferred experience in the public sector.
- Preferred Certifications:
- International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
- Certified Test Engineer (CSTE)
- Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST)
